East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has reaffirmed its role as a trusted partner in Uganda’s
healthcare ecosystem, stepping forward as a partner at the Joint Annual Surgical Scientific
Conference 2026, held from 25th to 27th March at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The conference,
which convenes leading surgeons, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders, serves
as a vital platform for advancing surgical excellence and strengthening collaboration across
the health sector.
Speaking during the conference, Managing Director Brian Kavuya emphasized the
importance of local manufacturing in building a resilient healthcare system. He noted that
since producing its first medical glove in 2021, EAMV has continued to expand its
production capacity, ensuring that hospitals across Uganda have access to consistent, high-
quality surgical gloves while supporting national health priorities.
In a strong endorsement of EAMV’s efforts, Prof. Moses Galukande, President of the
Association of Surgeons of Uganda, commended the company for its deliberate and
consistent engagement with the surgical fraternity. He highlighted that the silver sponsorship
from EAMV has echoed their strong commitment in strengthening the overall quality of
surgical care in the country.
This growing partnership between EAMV and Uganda’s surgical community is delivering
measurable system-level benefits. By aligning local production with clinical demand, the
collaboration is strengthening supply chain reliability, reducing procedure delays linked to
stock-outs, and improving the consistency and quality of care in operating theatres. It also
supports national health priorities by enhancing system efficiency, reducing dependence on
imports, and optimizing resource utilization. In parallel, structured engagement between
EAMV and surgeons is enabling continuous feedback, supporting evidence-based product
development, and driving context-specific innovation tailored to Uganda’s healthcare needs.
As Uganda advances toward a future of improved healthcare delivery, EAMV remains
committed to working alongside medical professionals, policymakers, and partners to ensure
that quality surgical care is accessible, reliable, and proudly made in Uganda.
